Chapter #87 provides the following workshops:

 A Pre-Business Workshop is conducted at three locations on the 2nd ,3rd and 4th Friday of the month. Here the participants are presented with the issues faced when starting a business, including: 

  • Self-analysis of readiness to go into business

  • Concept Feasibility

  • Business Plan Development

  • Marketing and Merchandising

  • Cash Flow Projection

  • Record Keeping

  • Sources of Funds

  • Licensing/Taxes

  • Legal Structure

Participants receive SBA and Enterprise Florida publications, along with other useful reference material, to help in developing their business concept.
Workshops are held at the Chapter’s Holly Hill office on the 2nd Friday , at the Chamber of Commerce in New Smyrna Beach on the 3rd Friday and at the Chamber of Commerce in Orange City on the 4th Friday. They run from 10.00am to 12.00 noon.
Because the workshops costs are underwritten by Bank of America there is no cost to participants.
Space is limited, so advance reservations are recommended.

  Business Workshop for Starting and Succeeding  is a new program the chapter is participating in. This is an extension of the pre-business workshop that will be presented at the Volusia County’s Department of Economic Development facilities (Entrepreneurial Center) at the Advance Technology Center in Daytona Beach. Initial plans call for four workshops per year, the first being on Tuesday March 1st. at 9 am. Call 386-255-6889 for further information, and to reserve a place.

High School Presentations. A simplified how to start and run a business seminar is tailored for High School seniors. This is available on request by school administrators and is a great opportunity for young aspiring entrepreneurs to meet and discuss their ideas  with seasoned businessmen.
